About Us

The Scullery was opened at 473 Victoria Street in 1994 by Graham and Barbara Smith.  It was a small store specialising in Quality Kitchenware serving Waikato shoppers. Around 5 years later the store had outgrown its existing space so was moved South along Victoria St to the larger premises at 391 Victoria Street. Its product range grew to include some of the worlds leading Kitchenware brands such as Le Creuset, WMF, Henckels, Scanpan, Bialetti and Peugeot.

In 2005 Graham and Barbara sold the business to local Hamiltonians Jon and Sharon Booth. With the help of Kelly Dalton who had worked with Graeme and Barabara they set out to build on the great reputation for quality and service The Scullery had created over the first eleven years of trading.
As hands on owner operators Jon and Sharon were very involved in the purchasing and layout of the store and they prided themselves on providing an excellent shopping experience.

In 2008 an opportunity arose to relocate to the newly fitted out premises 2 doors south at 371 Victoria St. The store had grown to a spacious, light, bright and modern looking store still stocking many of those quality brands plus many more including Staub Cast Iron, Denby dinnerware, Riedel and Schott Zwiesel Stemware, Lenox and Royal Doulton cut crystal.
They continue to offer a great selection for you to choose from as well as providing those handy tips and information about their products usually from personal experience.
Sharon and Jon both continued to work in the store with assistance from their daughter Erin and niece Briar.
.
In 2018 Jon decided to pursue his dream to be a Constable with the NZ Police. After successfully graduating in September 2018 he now works in the Waikato District. Sharon still runs the store with assistance from their son Hayden.
.
In 2019 Sharon and Jon downsized the store to a more boutique style two doors south. They decided it was best to stick to their core business in stocking a range of Quality Kitchenware that they have come to trust over the years.
.
Often they stock items because they personally recommend them or have come to know that some products just simply have more desireable features.Their range includes products to suit everyone`s budget and sometimes the best option is the best because its all you need. And you can trust them to tell you.
The store still has the same address of 371 Victoria Street, Hamilton next to Urge Cafe.

So for a shopping experience from a locally owned and operated Hamilton business backed by a strong reputation, a great selection to suit your needs, products, brands and advice you can trust come and see them either online or at the store 371 Victoria Street, Hamilton.
